!! IMMEDIATE ACTION !!
Please email kirtancollective108@gmail.com to say hello (and Star the email so that your email provider knows we’re not spamming you)
Hari Om friends, not long now before we all meet and chant together, it's going to be a truly special weekend for us all.
Here are a few final things to attend to before Friday...
Address
442 Whenuahou Road, Takapau, Hawkes Bay 4974
Payment
Have you paid your deposit (per person, including children) yet? If not, head over here.
The Nurturing Soul Community run their retreats on the loving generosity of koha (donation). You are very welcome to pay by cash or bank transfer at the end of the retreat, but we do need your deposit now to go some ways towards buying the food for the weekend. You can use the same bank account for your final payment.
Car Pooling
If you're still looking for a lift, or can offer a lift, please go to our Whatsapp page to connect:
(Email us for the link)
What to bring
Please read the FAQ page for personal items to bring with you, and what not to bring.
In addition to that, if you have any of the following gear that you're happy to bring, please let us know:
Gazebo
Ground mats
Camping chairs
Solar lanterns / Solar fairy lights
Please remember, also, to bring your musical instruments (we're assuming that if you mentioned it in the registration form, that you'll be bringing it).
Children
So far we have 10 kids coming of various ages. It's fantastic to expose and immerse our kids to these heart opening and creative practices. Like an extended family, we will all look out for each other and help out when we see a need. Kids are welcome to join in with the workshops, the kirtans and the karma yoga (food prep and dishes). They are welcome to free-range in and out of sessions, but please be aware this is a working farm, with farm hazards, and a parent or care-giver needs to be responsible for their child/ren. While there is a lot of space to run around, you may also want to bring unobtrusive games / activities for them.
Food
We have two awesome head chefs to cook up delicious meals for us during camp, who will do their best to cater to the various dietary requirements. All meals will be vegetarian, and we can cater for GF, DF and vegan diets also.
If you have very specific food requirements, please ensure you bring extra food that you can eat. Parents; please bring extra snacks for your kids :-)
Karma Yoga
Karma Yoga is the practice of yoga in action. In this instance, it will be in service of helping out on kirtan camp, such as food prep and dishes. Bringing Karma Yoga into the program allows for us to co-create the event, keep costs down for you, and for you to bring an attitude of awareness and mindfulness to everyday tasks. It is a very empowering practice.
Many hands make light work. Karma Yoga will be done after meals, and before the next workshop. There will be a whiteboard of tasks that you can sign up for. You can always check out the Program, to help orientate when you might want to help out.
And if you see a need, such as chopping firewood for instance, feel free to jump in and give a hand.
Arriving and setting up
Aim to arrive around 4pm on Friday. Dinner will be served at 6.30pm, followed by a 7.30pm Kirtan.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by a helper who will show you where the best camping options are, the toilets and shower (showering will have to be done throughout the day as there are only two showers on site - feel free to bring your own camp shower if you have one, or just go natural).
If you need help setting up, please let us know in advance.
Staying in touch
Unfortunately, unless you have sent an email to us at kirtancollective108@gmail.com, this email will likely end up in your SPAM folder. Please, if you have received this, forward this on to anyone in your contacts who you know is attending kirtan camp (or may want to ;-p) so that we can ensure any last minute messaging gets through to everyone.
Questions
If you have any further questions or concerns, email us back. We'll respond as soon as we're able.
